Who is this camp for?

This camp is for competitive athletes who are looking for the latest in performance theory and practice, essential skill development for the complex competition environment, mindset and comp psychology, and a workshop approach to preparing for competition. For categories C – Jr, as described below:

A: Competitive National-level competition climber

B. Competition climber but has never qualified for Nationals

C: New to competition climbing

what is the format of camp?

C – B athletes will meet in the mornings for 3 hours (9a-12p), every day for 5 consecutive days.

A – Jr (and adult) athletes will meet in the afternoons for 4 hours (1p-5p), every day for 5 consecutive days. 

Athletes will work closely with Coach Matt, as well as visiting coaches and setters, to train on world class boulders and skill development stations.

In addition to all of this great training for athletes, Coach Matt is also offering a one-day clinic for setters on March 9th, 2025.

If you’re a climbing coach or routesetter, this will be a great opportunity to learn from one of the most experienced in the world (25 years+). Coach Matt will cover topics like structuring training blocks, setting goals for success, developing competitive teams, and coaching for peak performance. He’ll also dive into balancing training schedules, fostering healthy development in youth climbers, competition strategies, team building, and answering general training questions.

All coaches & setters that attend the one-day clinic will be allowed to attend any of the athlete camp sessions at no charge. This will be to help reinforce the knowledge from the clinic and to assist with programming as needed.
